Irshad Syed M.D.
Irshad Syed, MD is a Board-Certified Family Physician and Geriatrician with over 20 years of experience providing comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages. He is passionate about preventive medicine and helping patients build clear, practical plans to improve long-term health.
Before joining Marietta Family Medicine, Dr. Syed served the community through the Grady Health System, where he spent nine years in clinical, academic, and leadership roles. He has a strong academic background with national-level awards, as well as publications and presentations.
Dr. Syed completed his Residency and Geriatrics Fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, where he also served as Chief Resident. He cares for children, adolescents, women, men, and older adults, and our clinic offers the services you’d expect from a modern primary care practice.

Meera Thirumal, RN, BSN, MSN, FNP-C
Meera Thirumal, FNP-C, is a American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 32 years of patient-care experience. She focuses on prevention, patient education, and clear, step-by-step treatment plans for acute concerns and chronic conditions. She earned her MSN (FNP) from Columbus State University and her BSN from Georgia College & State University. Languages: Tamil, Sinhalese.

Sheryl Kennedy, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Sheryl Kennedy, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 20+ years of experience in family practice, internal medicine, geriatrics, and chronic pain care. Patients can expect a thoughtful, patient-centered visit with clear communication and practical next steps. She earned her MSN from Kennesaw State University and completed nursing training at Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing.
